Acne

Active breakouts, congestion, and the marks and scarring acne leaves behind, treated with medical-grade peels, microneedling, and lasers, without aggressive protocols that set skin back.

Acne and skin rejuvenation treatment at Charlotte Medical Aesthetics

What it treats

  • Active acne, breakouts, and congestion
  • Post-acne marks and scarring
  • Vi Peel, microneedling, and lasers

The CMA approach

Every plan starts with a full skin assessment. We calm active breakouts first with medical-grade peels and a targeted routine, then treat post-acne marks and scarring with microneedling and lasers. The goal is clear skin that holds, not a quick fix that sets it back.

Skin Health

Customized facials, Vi Peel chemical peels, and medical-grade skincare to improve texture, tone, dullness, and pigment. When a concern needs more, we pair these with microneedling or laser.

What it treats

  • Texture, tone, dullness, and pigment
  • Customized facials and Vi Peel chemical peels
  • Medical-grade skincare and home routines

The CMA approach

Every plan starts with a full skin assessment. Dr. Crenshaw and the team build a plan around peels, facials, and a medical-grade home routine, layering in microneedling or laser when a concern needs more. We build skin health over time rather than chasing quick fixes.

Neurotoxins

Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Daxxify in one practice. Each softens dynamic expression lines in the forehead, brow, and around the eyes while preserving how your face actually moves.

Neurotoxin injection aesthetic treatment

What it treats

  • Forehead, frown, and crow's feet lines
  • Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Daxxify available
  • Placed by a physician, not a tech

The CMA approach

Dr. Crenshaw personally places every injection and matches the product to you. If you want the original gold standard, that is Botox. If you want the longest duration, that is Daxxify. The goal is always the same: you, still moving like yourself, with fewer lines.

Dermal Fillers

Restylane, RHA Collection, Revanesse, Radiesse, and Sculptra. The right filler depends on the area, the depth, and what you want from movement. We use ultrasound guidance in high-risk zones for added safety.

Dermal filler injection treatment at Charlotte Medical Aesthetics

What it treats

  • Lip, cheek, chin, and jawline enhancement
  • Under-eye, tear trough, and perioral refinement
  • Ultrasound-guided placement in high-risk areas

The CMA approach

Filler is a tool, not the plan. Dr. Crenshaw matches the product to the anatomy: RHA for dynamic areas, Radiesse for jawline structure, Revanesse Lips for lips, and Sculptra to build collagen and volume over time. We treat conservatively and revisit results together. The goal is balance, not volume.

Laser & Energy

Advanced laser and energy treatments for pigmentation, texture, acne scarring, and skin laxity. Your protocol pairs the right modality to your concern: CoolPeel fractional CO2 (Tetra Pro), Everesse monopolar RF, the Candela Nordlys laser and IPL platform, or the Motus AZ+ laser.

Laser and energy-based skin treatment at Charlotte Medical Aesthetics

What it treats

  • Pigmentation, sun damage, and uneven tone
  • Texture, pores, and acne scarring
  • Everesse, CoolPeel, and Nordlys IPL

The CMA approach

CoolPeel gives you CO2 laser results with one to two days of downtime instead of two weeks. Everesse tightens and volumizes without needles. The Candela Nordlys treats pigment and redness with IPL, and melasma with its fractional Frax laser. We build the right protocol based on your skin type and goals.

Microneedling

SkinPen, the first FDA-cleared microneedling device. Controlled micro-injuries stimulate your own collagen and elastin, improving texture, tone, and acne scars without heat, chemicals, or pigmentation risk.

Microneedling skin rejuvenation treatment

What it treats

  • Acne scars and uneven texture
  • Fine lines, enlarged pores, and dull skin
  • Safe for every Fitzpatrick skin type

The CMA approach

SkinPen is the only microneedling device with FDA clearance for facial acne scars and neck wrinkles. Ninety percent of patients in clinical trials would recommend it for acne scars. Results build over three to six months as your skin rebuilds itself. A series of sessions produces the most durable improvement.

Weight Management

Physician-supervised GLP-1 weight loss with semaglutide or tirzepatide. FDA-approved medications for chronic weight management, prescribed and monitored by Dr. Crenshaw, with dose titration, lifestyle guidance, and regular check-ins.

Medical weight management treatment

What it treats

  • Semaglutide (Wegovy, Ozempic)
  • Tirzepatide (Zepbound, Mounjaro)
  • Physician-monitored with regular check-ins

The CMA approach

Weight resistance is usually hormonal, not a willpower problem. GLP-1 medications regulate appetite, slow gastric emptying, and support metabolic health. Clinical trials showed average weight loss of fifteen to twenty-two percent over roughly a year, depending on medication and dose. Dr. Crenshaw titrates your dose and monitors progress at every check-in.

Advanced Safety

Ultrasound-Guided Injections. Precision You Can See.

Most practices inject filler based on landmarks and feel. At CMA, we use real-time ultrasound imaging to visualize blood vessels and facial structures before and during injection. It means safer placement, more accurate results, and the ability to correct previous filler work with precision that blind techniques simply cannot match.

Real-time vessel mapping reduces the risk of vascular complications
Precise filler placement for more predictable, natural-looking results
Ultrasound-assisted filler correction when previous work needs revision

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Treatments

What is the difference between Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Daxxify?

All four are FDA-approved neurotoxins that relax the muscles behind expression lines like forehead wrinkles, frown lines, and crow's feet. The main differences are onset speed, duration, and formulation. Botox is the most established. Dysport spreads slightly more, which works well for larger areas. Xeomin contains no additives, which may reduce the chance of developing resistance. Daxxify lasts up to six months for some patients, roughly twice as long as traditional neurotoxins. Dr. Crenshaw carries all four at Charlotte Medical Aesthetics and selects the best option based on your anatomy and goals.

How long do dermal fillers last, and which filler is best for lips?

Filler longevity depends on the product and the treatment area. Hyaluronic acid fillers like Revanesse Lips and RHA typically last six to twelve months in the lips. Cheek and jawline fillers like Radiesse or Restylane Lyft can last twelve to eighteen months. Dr. Crenshaw selects the filler based on your anatomy, the area being treated, and how you want the result to feel and move. At Charlotte Medical Aesthetics, all filler injections in high-risk zones are placed with ultrasound guidance for added safety.

What does a CoolPeel laser treatment do, and how much downtime is there?

CoolPeel is a fractional CO2 laser that resurfaces the outer layer of skin to improve tone, texture, fine lines, and sun damage. Unlike traditional CO2 lasers that require one to two weeks of recovery, CoolPeel delivers controlled energy with just one to two days of redness and mild peeling. Most patients return to normal activities within 48 hours. A series of treatments produces the best results for deeper concerns like acne scarring or significant sun damage.

Is microneedling safe for dark skin tones?

Yes. SkinPen is the first FDA-cleared microneedling device and is safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types, including darker complexions. Unlike some laser treatments that carry a higher risk of hyperpigmentation in melanin-rich skin, microneedling works by creating controlled micro-injuries that stimulate your own collagen production without heat or light energy. This makes it one of the safest and most effective options for improving acne scars, texture, and tone in patients with darker skin.

What is Ultherapy, and how is it different from other skin tightening treatments?

Charlotte Medical Aesthetics previously offered Ultherapy, a focused-ultrasound skin tightening treatment. We now use Everesse, a monopolar radiofrequency treatment, for skin tightening because it is more comfortable and carries no risk of affecting the superficial fat pads that keep the face looking youthful. Everesse tightens and restores volume without needles or downtime, with results that build over several weeks as collagen rebuilds. The Candela Nordlys platform additionally treats pigment, redness, and melasma.

Can I combine Botox and fillers in the same appointment?

Yes, and many patients do. Neurotoxins address dynamic lines caused by muscle movement, while fillers restore lost volume and refine contours. Treating both in one visit is common and often produces a more balanced, natural-looking result. During your consultation, Dr. Crenshaw maps out which areas benefit from each treatment and builds a plan that avoids overcorrection. At CMA, the goal is always to enhance what you have rather than change how you look.

Does Charlotte Medical Aesthetics offer weight loss treatment with semaglutide or tirzepatide?

Yes. Charlotte Medical Aesthetics offers physician-supervised GLP-1 weight management with both semaglutide (the active ingredient in Wegovy and Ozempic) and tirzepatide (the active ingredient in Zepbound and Mounjaro). These FDA-approved medications regulate appetite and support metabolic health. Dr. Crenshaw prescribes, titrates dosing, and monitors your progress at every check-in. Clinical studies have shown average weight loss of fifteen to twenty-two percent of body weight over approximately one year depending on the medication.

How do I know which aesthetic treatment is right for me?

Every treatment plan at Charlotte Medical Aesthetics starts with a one-on-one consultation. Dr. Crenshaw evaluates your skin, reviews your medical history, and listens to what you want to achieve. From there, she recommends a plan that may include one treatment or a combination across categories. There is no menu-based approach here. Whether your concern is fine lines, volume loss, skin texture, or something else entirely, the recommendation is built around you, not a template.
